Get two job offers - I hadn't really thought about the power of leverage having a second job offer would give me. Having two firms compete over my services certain levels the playing field doesn't it? I mean think about it - how many applicants has a human resources manager screened before finally settling on you? How many layers of bureacracy did he or she have to go through to get your hiring approved? Were you aware that this is the one moment where you actually have the strongest negotiating position? I sure wasn't - but I ran across an article and it just got me thinking. Here's an excerpt of the article:
